The first butterfly has emerged! 🦋
16th May 2024
This morning in school, we noticed that one of the chrysalides was very dark in colour. This was a big clue that the butterfly was preparing to emerge. The magical moment happened in the afternoon! ❤️ Once the butterfly emerged, it had soft, crumpled wings. It began to expand and dry them. The butterfly now needs some time to rest and recover after its prolonged and complex transformation. We will now leave some fruit, nectar (sugar-water) or nectar-bearing flowers in the butterfly habitat!
